Linsey’s been telling me to read this book, ‘Steal Like An Artist’ for about a year. (here it is on amazon, if you’re so inclined.)
“ya. ya. I’ll get to it.” has been my answer to her incessant hounding. incessant… hounding.
Well, I got to it. It’s awesome. So I’m writing it out, in print, for the world to see: Linsey was right.
This once. 🙂
(Linsey – I can hear your smiling all the way from my office as I write this. Tell your husband I’m sorry I encouraged you.)
Annnnyway. One of my many favorite ideas/quotes I’ve snagged from this book has to do with sharing your process. ‘Your process’ being how you go about being creative and creating and all that.
A little piece of my process has to do with taking pictures whenever I can, of whatever I can, to stay sharp and to get better. I usually have a theme in mind that I’m practicing. Lately, my theme has been really trying to use light with dark to make the mundane look interesting. Here’s a few from yesterday morning. (Just to be clear, nothing about my boy is mundane… he’s 2, pure energy, and unfathomably cute. Eating oatmeal, however, is about as mundane as it gets.)
