The wedding ceremony is such a great moment of building tension and anticipation. As I make my way to the front just before the ceremony begins, I hear friends and family start whispering to each other, “it’s starting”.
The groom and officiant take their place. (Deep breath… Here we go.)
The bridesmaids and groomsmen make their way. (They look beautiful.)
The flower girl and the ring bearer offer a moment to relax with their over-the-top cuteness and inevitable unpredictability.
And then, there she is.
We stand. He cries. Dad tries to hold it together.
Slowly, she makes her way down the aisle, taking everyone’s breath with her as she goes.
At the front, she’s given away.
And then, today, at this particular moment, Megan just can’t hold back any longer. She dives for Miles, hugging him. Laughing and crying at the same time.
It was an awesome moment full of joy, excitement, and love.
The entire day was a fairytale. Bubbles for their exit. A horse drawn carriage ride. Lights, flowers, perfect weather, and a beautiful location. But what I will always love about Megan and Miles’ wedding is that one, single moment. With or without the all the flash, this girl loves this boy and he loves her back.
