I’d been looking forward to shooting this session for a while now. Sarah and I first started talking a little before she was engaged (Sarah and I were both ready to go, but had to wait a little on Chad. 🙂 )

Then the big question was popped, excited emails were exchanged, and here we are!

Sarah has one of those personalities that brings out smiles in everyone around her. It’s simply contagious, as I’m sure you can see in her pictures. After talking with her a little, I was pretty excited to get to know this guy she had fallen head over heels for… and Chad didn’t disappoint. I didn’t think it was possible, but Sarah actually laughs and smiles more when Chad’s around. I love when I get to work with couples that bring out the best in each other, like these two. I get to step back, enjoy, and capture the natural interaction between them.

We set out into the wilderness to prove that winter shouldn’t be a deterrent for great engagement pictures and I think we accomplished our goal! I love the color we got. My favorite part had to be Chad wading out fearlessly onto the ice with Sarah, indirectly challenging me to do the same. Now I have my first ‘slightly-terrified-of-falling-through-ice-but-trying-not-to-show-it’ shot!
