Manor House Wedding: Eric and Cheri

A good deal of wedding photography is people watching. Paying attention not only to what’s happening at any given moment, but also noticing how people are reacting to the action is key to telling the story. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the Secret Service, scanning the crowd while constantly keeping tabs on my bride and groom.

It’s amazing how much you can learn about someone following them around with a camera for a day. While trailing Eric and Cheri at the Manor House on their wedding day, one thing stood out more than anything else. They were giddy to be getting married to each other. Eric was like a kid in a candy store. And Cheri? She couldn’t contain her excitement.

There are a lot of things that can be distracting at a wedding for the bride and groom. Sometimes the schedule goes awry. Sometimes the weather has alternate plans for your outdoor ceremony. Sometime, just dealing with all the attention is a lot to handle.

Then there’s the planning that goes into making your day perfect. The decorations, flowers, cake, music, officiant, and that suit that just doesn’t fit the way it’s supposed to even though you had a final fitting two days ago. It’s always inspiring to me to be around couples who seem to rise above all the noise and not lose sight of what the wedding is all about. Thankfully, that’s pretty much all my couples… Eric and Cheri are no exception.
